History
During the first 8 years in its history of construction and development, from 2000 to the end of 2007, the Faculty of Economics - the forerunner of the University of Economics and Law has not had a separate unit in charge of teaching mathematics modules.
From the beginning of 2008, the Department of Mathematics and Economic Statistics under the Faculty of Economics was officially established under Decision No. 100/QD-KTT-TCHC of the Head of the Faculty of Economics.
By March 2013, the Department of Mathematics and Economic Statistics was renamed to the Department of Economic Mathematics under Decision No. 311/QD-DHKTL-TCHC dated April 15, 2013, of the Rector of the University of Economics and Law.
From 04 lecturers, including 02 PhDs, 02 MSc in the first establishment in 2008, the Department of Economic Mathematics has quickly built up and developed into a strong unit of the University of Economics and Law. As of July 2014, the Department has 17 members including 01 Secretary and 16 Lecturers including 01 Associate Professor, 05 PhDs and 10 MSc.
Under the direction of the Leadership of the University of Economics and Law, the Department has built a growing team in terms of quantity and quality. Since 2018, the Department has opened an academic program in Applied Mathematics in Economics, Management and Finance (Economic Mathematics). In 2019, the Department was upgraded to the Faculty of Economic Mathematics. Currently, the Faculty has 16 tenure lecturers, including 02 Associate Professor, 06 PhD and 08 MSc. In the academic year 2020-2021, in parallel with the normal program, the Faculty opened a high-quality program in Economic Mathematics. This program is oriented towards a modern learning environment that meets the rigorously high standards of training. Students will study under the guidance of leading lecturers; access to advanced international learning programs; practice scientific research (an obligatory requirement of the high-quality program); are encouraged to learn foreign languages and prioritize contact and exchange with professors and doctors from big universities who are international partners of the Faculty, etc.
